01 crv steering rack fastening bracket
I have an 01 crv and the steering rack is loose on the passenger side. Someone just replaced it and i'm not sure if they did it right. Theres a round bushing that goes around the body of the steering rack, then a half circle bracket on the bottom side that holds it there. Theres nothing on top keeping it from moving upwards, and its creating a weird steering issue. My question is, can someone enlighten me with a picture or description of how the steering rack fastens on the passenger side?
Sounds like you are missing item #4 in the attached diagram. Basically it goes on first, then the steering rack/bushing around it, followed by item #6.
Part #53435-S04-J50
Looks like the part is the same one as the 96-00 civics, so if you want to get one used you have a few different cars to get it from.
