Default Rebuilt K24 - First Start - vid & datalog - heating & noise concerns

Just started up my EP for the first time in a year (nearly to the day).

I just installed a rebuilt K24A1 (block and head) with Arias 8.5:1 pistons and Eagle rods. Turbo set up is same as before on the K20A3, cooling is the same, as is the fuel system. I put diesel oil in it, 15w-40 to lube everything up per the engine builders suggestion (to only get it up to operating temps and then drain it and replace it with 10w-30.

It started up just fine, but it sounded really rough, like it was working really hard. No smooth like the stock engine, and not ticking, just noisey.

It immediately through an O2 sensor code, so I'll replace the primary.

I let it warm up but the temp kept climbing. I finally shut it off at 202. Not sure why it's getting so hot. Fan was turning on. When refilling the radiator/cooling system (from dry) it only took 1.25 gallons.

Below is a link to the start up datalog and video- I have a warm up datalog but it's too big to attach- If you can look at it, send me your email and I'll email it over.

make sure you have the valves lashed appropriately and that you didnt have a stuck lost motion assembly.
ideally you want to run non detergent oil the first go around it will hold the metal and other particles in suspension better and they will come out with the oil change. you can get nd oil at like napa or advance auto etc. Non detergent or ND30 in a 30 weight. Id probably run that through the motor for 20 min and then change it.
when you fill the coolant make sure you fill it back into the motor through the top rad hose by the throttle body as well as the top of the radiator. this lets coolant get all the way down into the block with the thermostat still closed.
i think they are a bit of a pain in the *** to bleed anyway, so it would surely help to make sure the front is jacked up in the air to try and make the rad cap the highest point.

not sure what your base knowledge is or what you did since i admit i didnt watch the video, but those are some tips that never steer me in the wrong direction
