Default any hints and tips for buying out of state car?

hey guys I'm thinking for buying a used car from Pennsylvania and registering it in cali.

I have never done this before so whats all involved?

what should I watch out for?

what should I ask the owner?

Make sure the emissions sticker is for all 50 states. My buddy bought a car in PA and when he got it to CA he had to buy $1500 worth of smog stuff to get it to pass because it was only 49 state legal. Also, you need to seriously check for rust. Most PA people buy cars from here because they don't rust, not the other way around. Are you going to ship the car or pick it up? Do you trust the seller? You need to make sure you are very secure with the transaction before sending any money.

It could go super smooth or you could get totally ripped off. Just depends on the amount of work you put in.
