Default 3rd Gen H22a/b20b

Hey been in the website before never signed up i figured i shiuld considering im a tech for honda and could help others and get some help.

im thinking on swapping my 1988 prelude si for a b20b or h22a4 and possibly a jdm h22

i had a few questions reguarding the following swaps maybe someone here could awnser them

im familiar with the custom mounts needes for h22 will i have a hard time getting it bar'd with the h22 and or h22 jdm motor.

will the b20b fit up with the b20a tranny and will it fit the b20a motor mounts?

And possibly links to members on here with a h22/b20b in their 3rd gen

nothing is compatible with b20a stuff unfortunately. meaning you need aftermarket or custom mounts, and you'll need a tranny that matches the engine you use. you'll also need a traction bar kit if you go with the h22 because if you keep the stock radius arms the h22 crank pulley will drag on the radius arm.
a few different companies make H swap mounts and traction bar kits. I personally prefer the traction bar kit from 1funryd aka Sean Tydingco. look him up on here or on facebook. Sean is also currently the only one offering b-series swap mounts. He should be commenting here shortly I imagine

The B20A and B20B engines do not have anything in common other than the "B" in the engine code, so the B20B engine will not work with your existing transmission and accessories. The H22A is a tight fit... but since your particular car is not OBD port equipped, it is likely that passing emissions will require a tailpipe sniff test. If you wire the engine completely for the H22A ECU, there is no reason to think that the vehicle cannot pass the emissions test.

spoon has never dealt with ecu's before. you bought a fake that someone made in their basement. just fyi. it'll probably run same as stock, but closer to the edge of dangerous, and I guarantee it'll have warranty stickers on it preventing you from removing the covers.

to Hswap you need a set of traction bars. they replace the front subframe and radius rods. the stock radius rods rub on the crank pulley. the aftermarket traction bars are supposed to give more clearance. I know 1funryd's system gives plenty of clearance for hswaps, I don't know about the other companies though. 1funryd's traction bar kit is also the only one offering a skid bar, which you WILL want, and it too is designed to fit with the Hswap. I have his traction bar kit in my car and I love it.

It's been proven our ESP mount kit is the best on the market far as fitment. Inno kit is not evey usuable. If you search you find the numerous threads. I have had 5 customers return the inno kit and get ours. Please Email with any questions.
Our Mount Kit is only few dollars more than the inno price you listed. ExplicitSpeed360@aol.com

As stated yes Traction Bar System is a must with the swap to clear the bigger H/F motor this is with ANYONES kit. Our ESP Traction Bar System replaces the stock front cross member, radius rods and front mount. It is much stronger and half the weight of the OEM parts. It will prevent wheel hop and torque steer, it also strengthens the Front End. Front Torque Mount Kit features poly ends and forces more power to the ground and is fully adjustable. The unit also improves overall road response in good and bad weather. It is a win win unit.

If you purchase both I can cut you a Super Deal!
