J swap prelude
Alright. After doing some research, I've decided that I would do something different from the crowd than just turbo the stock engine. I am about to purchase a 99 prelude base and I decided a j swap engine would be pretty cool to do. There are custom engine mounts made specifically for this swap, so custom fabrication shouldn't be needed. My question is which engine to choose. I'm deciding between a j32a2 and a j35a8. I likes the j32a2 because it would be putting out aroubd 260 hp and 230 tq, but based on the research I did power steering and ac would still be available. Also a 6 spd lsd tranny bolt right to it. I've heard that the j35a8 could put out more power and torque, but ac and power steering would no longer be available. Correct me if I'm wrong in any of my information. Also, I liked the j32a2 because a m90 supercharger could easily be bolted onto the intake manifold with a custom adapter found online. This would increase power into the low to mid 300 I assume on the j32a2, but could be even higher on a j35a8 if I just used a j32a2 intake manifold on that engine. Thoughts and suggestions? Also I know about the weight, balancing, and cost issues that I would run into. I am willing to Shell out the extra cash eventually for a the sound of a v6 under the hood of a lude with supercharger whine
. Heck, it's 2017! I'm pretty sure we have the technology to get this done.
