95 civic hood latch won't latch/lock. Cable seems fine, I can see the mechanism move when I pull the release. It worked until I popped the hood this morning. Hood won't stay shut when I try to push on it to close it. Tried adjusting the latch too by moving it up/down. Any ideas before I change the latch?

 

yeah, push the latching mechanism in with your finger where the cable sits in it.
