Hi guys.

I was wondering if anyone know what brand roof rack i should get for my honda civic 2000 dx hatchback. need to take a kayak on top. went to thule site and they dont make one for my car. The yakima system is $400+ here in canada. Any economical ideas?

Have you looked on Craigslist or eBay for used setups?

Most of the yakima setups are the same towers with individual clips. So you should be able to buy a tower that fits a jetta or whatever then pay $40 for the clips for your car. You don't need one that is already specced for your car.

Bro! i have an 00 EK with the followong tht works perf!!

4 QTowers (with locks)
2 q69 Clips for front bar (prolly get away with using the ssame since its one door)
2 q70 clips for back bar
2 round bars 42"
1 roof fairing 38"

as far as your kayak goes id prollyw go with the roller set up .with a few other yakima attachments

cheers for the reply!. my local shop found some used Thule components to make up a base system for my car. didn't go get it installed yet. $300 for everything including installing. its pretty amazing price.
