Default Not Loud Enough PT 2

Sup homies, I need some advice. Now I've been told that straight pipes on a 4banger sounds like crap. Is this true?? Also, should I delete the Cat or get a high flow Cat?? Then the resonator. I do want my lil cockroach loud but I don't want it ugly loud. I'm nervous that deleting the resonator will make it ugly loud. Would eBay be good or should I go name brand for the cat-back exhaust. I plan on installing 2 1/4 inch pipes. Lastly, muffler. I have a nuetron muffler but I don't know how it sounds. I'll post pics of it tmr after I get off work. Thanks homies.

Using the turbo down pipe to resonator to straight pipe with muffler delete sounds really good.

I have no idea about naturally aspirated 4's. Probably harsh.

True, I've heard straight piped turbos and they sound awesome. I do plan on getting a T3/T4 turbo kit for it later on. Plus, I work at my uncles mechanic shop, so fab/install work is free since I'm doing it myself. Idk, imma do a test run with cat delete, resonator, muffler delete and see how it sounds.

Really want to be a moron?

Make it really loud?

Remove a spark plug , cut a hole in the hole in the hood, and lite the fire fountain ! My old saturn let a plug go. Made tons of noise. Sprayed fuel everywhere. Kept driving till I made it home. No fire, but very loud.

please don't be that guy with a straight pipe that wakes everyone up in the morning just starting the car up. Not only is it ridiculously loud, it sounds raspy as hell. Its a stock motor, not a built one meant to race.

Upgrade to a 2.25" cat, run a short resonator, and grab a straight-through muffler such as a Vibrant, or Magnaflow. It will be plenty loud. Magnaflow are nice and deep, and running a high flow cat, and resonator will help keep the "bad" noise down. Also, with a straight pipe, you're going to HATE driving on the freeway. Thing is going to drone like all hell. My custom Magnaflow setup was loud enough on the freeway.

For best sound control you can place the resonator as far back away from the cabin as possible , the muffler should also be as far away as possible. Transverse mufflers , ones going sideways, seem to control the sound better something to think about. A turn down tip to street will also decrease the sound .
