Loss of power at 3000 rpm's
Hey guys, i'm relatively new to not only Honda's but cars in general. I'm still young and learning so i don't know everything about my mechanical issues. i bought my 98 civic coupe with a b16a2 and swapped it with a b20b because the b16 rings went bad and smoked bad. Ever since i've had the car it's had a loss of power issue that I can't seem to figure out. Currently i'm using a p75c01 ECU i believe with the stock b20b motor. I just put that ECU recently cause the old one was looking for VTEC when there is none anymore. It runs better for sure but when i'm cruising especially at around 3000 rpm's, it loses power completely and i have to basically slam the throttle to get it to go again and it will keep it up until i come to a complete stop and try again. Also when it does this, it usually idles awful too. But it only happens randomly but it is often. I have never had the second o2 sensor on the car since I bought it. There is no check engine light anymore cause the p75 isn't looking for a second o2 sensor. I cant figure out why it's always done this with both motors since i got the car. The car runs great and pulls decent power. I just put in sea foam today to see if that would help but it still did it. Any help or ideas would be great. Thanks! Side note, could it be crappy ECU harness wiring??
