hey everybody. I've been reading this board for a pretty long time but I've never really posted before. I drive a FBP 2000 Civic SI with a pretty simple mod list. Apex N1, DC sports 4-2-1 header, AEM CAI, eibach prokit, tokico blues, and OZ racing Supperlegeras in 17x7 wrapped in some toyo proxes. I have cleared headlights and lots of other small stuff like that. but anyway...now that you've gotten to know me and my car a little bit , I'd like to ask you all a favor. Im writing an essay on how I feel about my SI and I could use some ideas. The essay is supposed to be in response to an essay written by a gun enthusiast and I'm trying to show how our love for our cars parallels that. so how do you guys feel about your cars? what is it about them that you love so much? What do you love more, driving or your car in general? what makes us mod? haha, I know this is kind of offtopic...but hey...its a discussion about why we love our civics . any help would be much appreciated. thanks guys!

It keeps me in focis and away from drugs. I think too my self do i need a bag or soem wheels and i will always say weels. When I am at work and pissed I think but i neeed too build mt self a turbo kit. Thats how i feel.

 

i live my life like my car... a 1/4 mile at a time. (can't wait til the new movie comes out so we can start quoting it)

 

WoW! Emotionally-laden questions... I hope you don't plan on getting any useful responses here. Personally, I don't think CiViC's are woody material, but that's just my opinion. I bought mine for the gas mileage, 'cause I'm a cheap bastard.

 

I think its a great hobby...building up any car no matter what type. When I work on my car and it runs better afterwards it just kicks a$$. I think its a great feeling when you accomplish something by yourself with your own to hands. (hehe that sounds kind of funny).

i believe that the cars (to me atleast) are better than drugs, or other stupid stuff (hookers, booze, food) it also made me get a job, i had to pay for the things on my car and for my car. Gas, Insurance, parts, they all make you grow up (well most of us). Also it teachs you the importance of money, with gas prices rising you learn to conserve. My main reason for buying my car was cuz of my job, i needed it to get to work, but as for reasons to modify it. My car is a SOHC Automatic. I cant get into traffic without flooring it, and it pisses me off. I made some modifications, intake and exhaust, and i am alittle quicker. I think that street racing is gay, and anyone that modifies their cars for that purpose is just as stupid. I am saving right now for a new engine and a transmission change over. This is making me show you gotta work for what you want. Im saving for over a year for this, and i know it. 4000 for the engine and install and maybe more for the parts needed for the tranny change over. After that I have NO idea what im going to do, cuz its going to be so different. I wanna be quick not fast, the track is all i care about really. I modify because its a hobby, i have been into cars about 2 years before I had one, and was the formost expert in imports for my school (while i was there) its just something that intrests me, and i think that is the same for alot of people.
