Default 1994 Honda Civic ex d16z6 please help!

Okay I'm new to this site. My names Matt I just picked up a Honda Civic ex with a d16z6. This is my first civic. So I have a problem. The car starts sometimes but sounds like it's not on all 4 cylinders. It's getting fuel. I took out the spark plugs and put a metal brake cable down all the cylinders and #2 wasn't moving at all. What does that mean and what do I have to do to fix it!? Please help!

try and get a flashlight shining down the spark plug hole and turn the motor over by hand and try and see the piston moving. or run a compression test.

Okay now I'm having another problem if you don't mind helping.. so the car started to shut off while I was driving and would start run for a sec then shut off. I'm using my distributor from my old motor on it it only mounts up with one bolt. Could that be the problem? Ecu? I tried the ignition switch I got a whole new steering column with it and still the same

There should be more than one bolt. But try and hold it into the cam and have someone start the car and see if it helps
