Default heatshield / header wrap for header on k20a3

Hi,
SO i have an OBX header that im about to install on my EP3 but I would like to wrap it to act as a heat shield. Ive read that header wrapping can cause premature wear or make it crack..im not interested in doing it for performance reasons but just as a way to keep the components that are mounted on the firewall cool and prevent them from melting or getting damaged

does anyone use a heat blanket of some sorts on their headers or are you using wrap?

Have you thought about ceramic coating? I had my Comptech shorty coated, and coating has no potential bad effects like wrapping does. Plus, it looks prettier.

coated header
Bonehead Performance in Warminster, PA did it, like almost all of my powdercoating on my two cars. Very good quality and great prices, but there are places all over the country that will do it.

Honestly, no idea. I just did it as a "nice to have" thing, and if it gave a reduction in underhood temps, all the better. But it is the same idea as wrap, so I can't imagine that wrap would do it any better than coating it. Never seen any direct comparison between the two ways of doing it.
