00 Civic with GSR dizzy help
i bought a 2000 civic dx with a obd2b gsr in it. It has a obd1 ecu (p06 with a vtec conversion). The car has had a check engine light ever since I bought it so I bought a new distributor replacing the one on the engine which had the model number TD-81U. When I put in the new dizzy, the CEL was no longer there, but my tach did not work. It would bounce up to 1000 RPM when I started the car, and then immediately drop to 0. I also could not get the timing right. I was at about 8 degrees BTDC when I need 16. but I could not adjust the dizzy anymore.
Did i buy the wrong dizzy? I got it from eBay and it said a direct replacement for TD-81U. Or is it just eBay quality parts that are messing it up.
also, the car has been tuned. Could that be a problem? (159 hp, 106 tq in case you were wondering
)
