Good morning ,my son as a 1998 honda civic si (canada car ) and the engine need replacement crank bearings and block are badly damage .The engine is a d16y8 .I found many zc and d16y5 and d16y7 and want to know what would be the direct or simillar engine to replace without replacing ecu and many other parts

 

You could use the block from the D16Y7 to replace the block from your D16Y8.

The head is different on all 3 engines as well as the ECU.

I believe the blocks are nearly the same between the D16Y7 and the D16Y8.
