Anyone here know where to get a good working refurbished TD87U / 30100-P73A-O2 dizzy? (sane price)

I tried aftermarked "new" dizzys but they seem to mess with the timing, car is weak, tried to adjust both manually and also by letting ECU work on it, tried it all tbh, the best i can do with these crap aftermarket dizzys is to have the dizzy bolted on at max angle towards the firewall, and even then i cant get optimal ignition.

Has anyone tried the Cardone Remanufactured Dizzys with success?
Or perhaps VMS High performance Dizzy? (i cant find any reviews or testemonials)

 

Do you still have the original dizzy, and have you tested what is actually wrong with it?

If it isn't the bearings but just the ignitor or coil, I would rebuild the one you have by replacing those parts. The OE Helms service manual has a distributor test process within it to follow. I'm not aware of any B18C6 specific distributors. The US ITR distributor seems to be the same PN 30100-P73-A02 . The housing is the TDU-84 which is used on more than just the ITR as some GSR integras also use it.

 

Im not sure what happend really, but the rotor flew off during driving, and shortcircuited the entire unit, there are burnmarks inside it aswell, so i dont think a refurb will be the pleasant way to go:/
Also its very weathered, screws seems impossible to get out on various places, rusted and corroded to the point of feeling like gum, yeah, its just very bad condition overall. My housing says TD87U btw, on the side of one of the wings on the cast iron housing.

After my last post here i have been digging a lot on the interwebs and the OEM or the Rich Porter (which seems to have a good rep) is just a tad too expensive for me right now.

And i have already gone through the eBay dizzy route and my car feels like it has only 140HP at maximum degree possible with that crap dizzy. if its put TDC it barely manages to idle, heh.
Maybe someone on here has a used OEM for sale?

 

I did a bit of digging and it appears that the general housings of TD-81 to TD-87 are essentially the same. The ITR supposedly uses a more robust rotor mechanism.
Perhaps try another aftermarket unit? I wonder if you just got unlucky.

Im considering a high performance dizzy from VMS or one of those Dragonfire ones, but i have literally heard nothing about them, but i like their salespitch on how they are designed to be stable on high RPMS, which seems to be the weakness of the one on my car right now.
