Default 1994 Honda fuel issue

my Honda civic has been having issues with the fuel gauge. It stays on Full for a few days then drops to 1/2 tank and then it sputters and dies. I fill it up and it only allows for 3 gallons before it clicks off. I've been told it could be anything form the relay to the fuel pump I'm just seeing if anyone has this issue or knows about it. its not showing any codes

I believe this is what happens when the fuel strainer falls off the fuel pump. Remove the back seat, remove the access cover, remove the fuel pump assembly. If the fuel strainer is missing from the end of the pump, fish it out of the tank. Denso makes the OEM ones. You can get them new from Denso for super cheap. Find the part# on Denso's find-by-part page. Usually very cheap through Amazon or RockAuto. Honda does not sell this part separately.
