Made a bad mistake on my daughters 96 Accord! Help
Has performed excellent until last week daughter called before running through emission test to let me know CEL was on. Pulled code with my trusty Torque Pro and got Egr insufficient valve lift. This is a non VTEC 96 Accord that has wheeled both my daughters around college and High school to a tune of 350,000 miles. I have rebuilt couple Ford 302, 351 & had this engine out reworking valves, rear main etc. I know my way around an engine and do all my sensor troubleshooting also but this has me wondering.
Tonight I was troubleshooting the EGR and had went through with the Egr valve itself, then moved to the Egr valve lift sensor and Egr control solenoid.
I screwed up while making a 12v jumper for the control solenoid and touched the + incoming connector for the valve lift sensor instead. The engine quit immediately and I tried to restart the car several times then she just locks up and the air filter box fills with gas coming from the intake throttle body...
What the _____ have I done. Is the cylinders filled? The starter will not turn her and I couldn't at the crankshaft.

you likely blew the 15a ecu fuse in the engine fuse box assembly, check that fuse and all the other in the fuse box, including the big 80 or 90a fuse there
after replacing the fuse you will need to clean out the egr plate to fix the egr code, do a youtube search for "eric the car guy egr cleaning"

I think I checked that fuse but I will take a vacation day today to go over everything. Yeah I cleaned all EGR ports last year so that is why I had checked all 3 egr points. Thanks for the info.
