Default 93 Honda accord fan problem

I have a 93 accord and when I had first gotten my car I had a problem with the cooling fans not wanting to turn off. I changed the relay for fans nothing worked I eventually ended up having to just unplug the battery every night cause even if I parked and my fans weren't running they would turn on in the middle of the night and I would come out to a nearly dead battery. My new problem is now I cannot get them to turn on my car has overheated, and the fans would not kick on I would turn the heater on the inside to help and it would. But now my heater doesn't even turn on or the a.c.. What would be my best bet to try and fix first? I was told when a wire was hooked directly from the fans to my battery they turn on and are working but something isn't turning them on automatically please help!
