OE or aftermarket alarm?
OE - most common issue is the hood latch switch gets "gummed" up and does make good contact and will cause the type of issue you are describing.
Aftermarket - you are on your own

Agreed on the battery issue. Verify it is holding a full charge. When the power drops out the alarm system factory or aftermarket may reset the system causing it to arm and go off.
