Hey all,

I am in the middle of installing a rebuilt automatic transmission into our 01 accord sedan. I am following factory procedure and torquing to spec. One question I had is regarding the shift linkage. Where my shift linkage connects to the transmission. Is there any chance the linkage might need to be adjusted to row through the gears properly? Or should I not worry about it? Might there be small differences in cable length from car-to-car?

 

Should be fine. Yes there might be some adjustment needed once all is said and done - just follow the proper procedure/

 

Well, standard procedure mentions nothing in regards to adjusting shifter cable length... so..... hmmm.

 

Unless something is bent or damaged, you should be fine on the shift cable.

 

If it's the same tranny why would you think you need to adjust something ?

 

Hello, can anyone help, am having trouble with my automatic transmission system, it will not change for 1 to 2 continuously, it moves for some time and disengages

 

I have changed oil and flush the gear still nothing

 

I started with those same symptoms. I had to drive a few miles back and forth to work and it's got worse. I checked the codes and it appears it's solenoids. I'm going to try to clean the screens before I replace the solenoids
