Default Looking for tune in NYC area

Hey guys. Looking for a tuner that won't charge me an arm an a leg though they still have a good reputation. Also my ecu is chipped and socketed and has the datalogging socket but don't know what it was previously tuned on. Bought the car to fix it's bugs but will definitely need a tune when I'm done soon. Any info anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! o

whoever chipped that ecu either did it a really long time ago, or they cut corners. it'll work, but it really should have a ZIF socket installed in the least.

I've been tuning with crome professionally for well over a decade now, Located in central CT. feel free to PM me

thanks for the response! Yes, I believe it was chipped quite some time ago. I have the car mostly put together, started it, runs kinda rough. Giving it gas slowly, it accelerates fine. If I blip the throttle it acts all erratic. Also the person I bought it from when it was a b20 turbo, had no o2 sensor hooked up (not even a place for one). Now it's an ls vtec turbo so I'll probably put one in (might help with the throttle issue). Also, if I wanted to have u tune it, would it be smart to change the base map so I could drive to you? Probably I'd assume. Especially since idk what's been programmed on here...

honestly, most basemaps are not as accurate as you might think, no matter who you get them from. if you have an active o2 sensor it can make it much better to drive on, but still fairly unknown.
yes, with such a drastically different engine setup, you definitely want a different basemap.
To have me tune it, you would have a 2-3 hour drive. I'd love to tune the car, but if you can find someone closer that would probably be ideal, just for the fact of not having to drive so far on a basemap.
I could possibly come to you, scheduling might be a little tough in the immediate future though.

check out the tuning directory on here. there's actually two seperate threads for it, and the list is a little different in each. not sure how up to date it is, but it's worth looking into. I'm Steve Belliveau in those lists

hate to bump an old thread but I'm a trial user and can't PM yet. If you still tune, I just picked up a 97 hatch and am in the process of figuring out a direction to go and looking for someone to tune when everything is all said and done. would love to pick your brain and talk rates
