2004 civic engine swap issues
Hello,
I have a 2004 manual non vtec civic that spun a rod bearing. I replaced the engine with a 2001automatic non vtec engine. The swap went well and everything fit together good but now I can't get the car to start it cranks and I'm getting fuel to rail. But still no start. Didn't swap ecu but did swap 02 sensor. Just wondering if anyone might have any ideas.
Thanks

can't swap ECU unless you make changes to the wiring harness, they are not the same. that being said, have you checked to see if the wiring diagrams are the same between the two cars? or did you just swap the long block (without accessories?)
Hello,
Thanks for the reply.
I have checked a few places and the ecus Match up as far as I know minus the o2 sensor being wideband on the 04 the 01 being narrow band. I used the o2 sensor off the 04 which is wideband. The harness is still the 2004 I never pulled it from the car just changed the engine over from the 01 and put it in the 04. Will be trying to pull codes in the next day.
Thanks again
The 01 is a honda civic ex non vtec.
The 04 is a honda vp coupe non vtec.
Thanks for the reply.
