Default 2001 Civic Ex P0740 Code

Hello I recently put a JDM 05 motor in my 2001 Civic ex, now I have the p0740 code everytime I go at least 55 for a minute or two on the highway, I took it to a near by mechanic and the first and only thing he said was that the transmission was on its way out, the transmission don't slip or anything while shifting gears so I'm finding it really hard to think it's the transmission that's done, also I've done a bit or research and it seems people who are buying the JDM slxa are having the same problem with the same code, could it be the JDM motor not pairing up with my transmission? If The transmission needs to be replaced will I not have the same problem same code p0740 with the JDM SLXA

So, you're running the stock transmission, or the one that came with the 2005 JDM engine?

As far as I know it's the stock engine, I only bought a JDM motor and swapped motors out

The pressures and solenoids should be checked in the tranny (AT Clutch pressure solenoid usualy) if that checks out fine it could be the torque converter.

It was wrong to the say the tranny is on its way out unless he checked everything

yeah after reading a while that's the same thing I thought, I jus can't really find a good mechanic that's gonna be honest to do it, is the solinid easy to get to? I know I can test and check it on my own as far as the pressures I know I'd have to get a shop to do that i def don't have the correct tools for that

I know I can test and check it on my own with a simple ohm meter and power as far as the pressures I know I'd have to get a shop to do that i def don't have the correct tools for that
