Default Replacing rusty front hard brake lines

Hi all, my 2000 Integra R has rust on the ends of the hard brake lines just before the flexible rubber hose joints.
Can I just get a set of braided hoses made and run these straight from the ABS modulator along the bulkhead (secured using the hardline clips) and connect straight to the caliper?
Or, do I cut back to good metal hardline and join in a cunifer section to the original rubber brake hoses?
Thanks, Jon
