So long story short, I was removing my valve cover to replace some gaskets and this tiny oval shaped piece seemed to have fly out of the valve cover while I was putting it down (potentially not even from the valve cover but it fell onto the ground as I was putting the cover down). Absolutely no one I've asked has any idea as to what this is or where it goes and I for the life of myself can't figure it out either as nothing seems to be missing on both the valve cover and the head. I should mention that it wasn't covered in oil or anything either which makes me thing it potentially isn't even from the valve cover...

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

 

It is a spacer found in the plastic cover of the engine harness as it passes across the top of the valve cover... at either end of where the coil plugs are located.

 

Assuming we're talking about the same thing, that's not it as both those spacers are there...

 

Hmmm... what about the insert in one of the coil packs ???
