My car whines and when put into d4 it hesitates to go in gear. what is the problem?

 

When was the last time you changed the fluid?
Suggest a drain and refill.
Albeit the fluid comes out with a lot of junk, if so the whining is possibly from a partially blocked sump pickup. Try draining and refilling to pull the gunk out of the sump.
