1999 CRV needs transmission, JDM yes or no? I cant find a straight answer..
1999 CRV AWD needs a transmission, I put in a $299 JDM motor a couple years ago and its been running great. Trans is starting to act up (300K miles).
I was looking to put a JDM transmission in since they can be had for ~500.. I researched on the forums and web, results are mixed. Some say they will always through a CEL, others say they will not. The JDM seller is telling me if I swap all sensors from my trans to the JDM trans I will not get a CEL code. Obviously this is alot of work to do, I was hoping to hear from members experiance if they have been able to swap in a JDM trans in a CRV and not have a CEL code?
Thanks much...

Im on the same boat. There was a good thread out there that explains why you get a CEL with a JDM transmission. In a nutshell, the gear ratios are different between USDM and JDM transmission. The USDM ECU looks for the appropriate ratio - if something doesnt seem right, it will throw CEL.
