Default Threaded hole for motor mount broken!

My wife has a 02 Honda Civic EX automatic. I replaced her front motor mount today. I pulled the old part off and installed the new one. Got the bolts snugged up and then continued to torque them. On the top bolt, it started to strip out before I got to torque spec and then I noticed the spot that sticks out on the engine block that the bolt threads into has the left side broken off so it only had very little thread to grab onto inside the engine block. Does this mean I have to buy another engine? Is there any other possible fix?

Well, there are a couple options here.

1. Find someone to TIG weld the broken piece back on, and retap it.
2. Run without a front mount, maybe with some inserts in the remaining mounts (to stiffen them up a little bit).

is there more 'untouched' thread inside you can grab with a longer bolt? Maybe try a 5 or 10 mm longer bolt and see if you can get in deeper. don't force it, just thread in by hand till it bottoms out and see how much of the bolt is left sticking out. Make up the difference with a washer or two if need be.
