I have a 1992 Honda Civic. Something is draining the battery. I have put a meter in the positive lead from the battery. I am measuring 1.5 amp draw with everything switched off, doors shut etc.

In the under hood fuse box I have removed a fuse one at a time. When I remove the option fuse the current draw drops to zero, but the car won't start!

Any ideas what the option fuse does?

 

Can you provide a fuse number?

So, check if anything is plugged into option plug #1 on the left side of the underdash fuse box.

 

If it's #36 then that's a major fuse!! Start narrowing it down by pulling fuses in the under-dash fuse box. Your service manual (you'd better have one!) will show you all the things #36 is connected to.

 

You have a loose ground somewhere. They don't come loose, you or previous owner may have not bolted it down.
