im just curious on my 2000 civic dx stock 4 lug
if i get a b16b ctr or 96,97 98+ itr motor can i keep my 4 lug or do i need to go 5 lug because of the bigger axles?
If you want to use the bigger splined axles, then you will need to use the big five lug hubs/brakes or aftermarket hubs... otherwise, just use USDM Integra axles and your standard 4 lug hubs.
Yes, you can use EM1 axles. Yes I am sure you can use the smaller spline axles through your hubs with the 32mm axle nut instead of the larger JDM big spline axles with the 36mm axle nut.
ok and say i want to change the parts on the type r motor like timing belt water pump etc. how would i go about that can i get them from honda under the usdm type r ?

also my car is a 2000 civic dx
i would like to keep power steering and ac
i read for the ac i just need a crv or an older del sol bracket (before 96)
but for the power steering i read i need an em1 pump?
is that all?
i know the deck height is taller on the b16b and b18 so i'm thinking it would sit higher to the hood as apprised to an b16a2
also my car is obd2b so that means i need an obd2b b16a or b18c which would be 99-00 for the b16b and 99-01 for the b18c?
Yes, the 1.8L, 2.0L and B16B blocks are about 1/2" taller than the B16A/B17A block... thus, making the overall engine sit about 1/2" higher in the engine bay than the 1.6L engine does.

Yes, that is correct. Also, you will need the EM1 P/S upper and lower bracket so that the pump can be adjusted properly like stock.
There is nothing wrong with a jdm engine. They are typically better priced, plus make a bit more power. You are thinking not to buy one because of the ecu, why? You can run the engine easily with many options. Besides running the jdm ecu, it's no big deal. Use could just buy a usdm ecu for a $100, or, you can run a Hondadata S300 to fine tune a custom map.
Axels mentioned earlier, are also no big deal. Sure, the jdm swap if completel, come with 36mm axel size at the wheel bearing side, but they don't have to be used. Any b series......civic or Integra that is usdm uses 32mm axels, they are a direct fit into your car.
i hav a jdm B18C, it fits my em1 100% perfect, no issues
Yes, the engine bracket on any "B" series engine is mounted in the same location vertically, so the extra deck height of a 1.8L, 2.0L or B16B block is above this, and thus, mounts the head higher... meaning that the engine will sit up higher in the bay. Also remember that the transmissions are interchangeable, so if in fact the extra 1/2" were to be found below instead of above, the engine would sit LOWER on the oil pan side and sloped/crooked in the engine bay instead of parallel to the ground. This also explains why some B16A headers hit the oil pan when mounted on 1.8L VTEC engines... because the head (and thus exhaust ports) sits up higher because of the increased deck height.
