So I have a 93 accord lx 2.2l and I bought it a couple months ago lots of issues have been fixed so far thanks to this community already having guides. So thanks for all the help, but I need a bit more.
My front driver door has an issue with the power locks they work perfect if the driver door is shut but not when open. I've triggered the sensor to make the car think the door is shut and tried engaging the lock and doesn't work. I can't even push the lock shut manually when I go to shut the door, and am forced to use the key to lock my car. Not a huge inconvenience but any suggestions would be appreciated.

 

I actually think that is how it is designed...I believe it is considered a safety feature. You can't lock your keys in the car if you have to use the key to lock the vehicle.

Pull the opener handle as you lock it. Civics of the same era have the same feature

 

Yup, this works. You can hit the lock button while holding the handle fully open and it will bypass the no-lock feature. Just make sure you have the keys.
