Default Rear Drum Brakes?

Is it obvious when the rear brakes are almost finished without having to take off the rear drums? Does it make a horrible screeching noise such as when front disc brakes wear down to the metal tab? Pretty sure the rear drums have at least 100,000 miles on them; but this car is treated like a baby.

Takes 20 minutes to inspect them. Why wouldn't you just check?

I know, just wondering if there was an obvious symptom of wear. I have not noticed anything abnormal with my braking.

While you're there check for anything else that can be concerning.
