which headers for LS?
Go for a ceramic 4-2-1 combo if you have a non-vtec. Better low and mid range OOmph.
4-1 is great for vtecs who thrive in the high revs.
But ultimately, its up to your application and preference.

I would get either the DC 4-2-1 ceramic or the comptech if you are going to use the stock cat. If you are going to get a highflow cat then I would get a T1r or a 5Zigen.

all you guys who say 4-1 type r are crazy, he'll loose tons of low end torque!!! if you want to compliment the powerband i would reccommend any 4-2-1 header. the comptech and chikara are torque stepped to invcrease midrange and top end power. the dc is a straight tube that was designed around the 1.6 liter b series engine , plus they crack a lot. I personnaly went with the comptech tig and it was very impressive. i noticed a big improvement from 2500-4400 rpm and a slight improvement after the 4400 range. the other draw back to 4-1 headers is if your car bottoms out over speedbumps ar any other obstruction in the road, i guarantee you that you will dent the hel out of the bottom of a 4-1 header.

thats what i was thinking, i was planning on getting a jdm itr next year, future mods after that would just be 403s which from dynos seems to move the low end torque up to the top end. and i'm not looking to buy a header now guys but thanks, just looking for opinions.

but i do have to agree on the ground clearance... it wasnt horrible, but i did tend to scrape easier (not much more though) than my friend who had a 4-2-1.

you dont lose that much "low end" torque. i had the 4-1 on my previous B18B and i loved it. pulled hard all the way to redline...thats where you are when you race anyway. loss of low end? barely noticeable when driving on the street... probably at the least, brings it down to a stock GSR torque level on the low end, which isnt bad at all if youve ever driven a stock GSR (and there are plenty of people that do). you want muscle car low end, get a pushrod v8. this hype about loss of low end torque from a 4-1 header comes from those stupid magazines.

Has anyone ever used the GReddy 4-2-1? I was thinking about the AN-R one since I'm pulling out my A/C anyway but I was wondering if anyone used either of these on an LS?

dude, u have a LS, like u have a choice! don't think i'm flaming cuz i have a b20 non vtec which is basiclly an ls motor also. jus get a dc 4-2-1 and if u wanna go all out, get the one piece 4-2-1.
