Fuel issues. 2003 crv
help! I have a 2003 crv. Had some clicking noises coming from top end. Assumed it was some valve noise. Adjusted all calves and changed plugs. Still had some clicks and noticed that they were present after driving for awhile but not when it had been parked overnight. Also, if driving and then stop for a few minutes then try to start it would crank longer than normal. Assumed fuel issues. Pulled the fuel pump to replace the strainer. Was filthy. Also replaced fuel pump since I had it out. Car now refuses to start.
Will start and run with brake fluid in air cleaner.
Spark is fine
There is two seconds of gas that come from pump when disconnect the line at top of pump. New and old.
However no fuel is getting to rail. I disconnected the line at the rail and cycled pump. Nothing at the rail end.
Fuel regulater?
i did blow through the line. Not very easy but isn't clogged. Have cycled the pump 10 plus times to get fuel to rail. Doesn't make it.
Thanks

Hi Matt,
I'm hoping you can shed some light on what solved your issue. I am working on a well maintained high mileage, 170K, 04 CRV with similar issues. We fabricated a fuel pressure adapter to fit the shop fuel pressure gauge. What we see is air in the line on a hot soak 7-10 minute sit when the engine won't start. Bleeding the air allows startup. There are NO fuel leaks and the engine runs flawlessly otherwise. A factory equivalent in tank fuel pump module was installed with a PGM-FI fuel pump relay to no avail. Invariably, air will end up in the fuel line. It is a returnless system and fuel pressure is in spec.
Thank you in advance,
Mark
