Default Skunk2 coils/Koni yellow issues

Hey everybody I have a 92 civic with a set of Skunk2 Sleeve over coilovers and I ordered a set koni yellows finally yay!!! I knew I was going to have to order an adapter or some new sleeves which I wasn't too worried about because a few years when I was originally going to order Ground controls I had talked to ground control and they said that you can use the regular coils they sell with my stock shocks and when I was ready to upgrade to konis they sell and adapter kit with new perches a little over $100. So Now that I ordered my konis I was researching and found that I Can order these skunk2 adapters which people sound kinda iffy about including the person who works at koni and has dealt with in the past, koni used to carry an adapter but they no longer have the part(it wasn't made for skunk2 coils they just happened to have a piece that worked) here is the link to the adapters I found that skunk2 makes

https://honda-tech.com/forums/suspen...konis-2592526/

Question 1. have you guys had good luck with these skunk2 adapters or are they an issue waiting to happen?

Question 2. is has anybody used the ground control conversion kit and if so how did you get it? When I tried contacting Ground control they said they have a conversion kit and its 125 but its only for ground control coilovers, from my research they should work just the same, both springs are 2.5" internal diameter, is there a real reason why this wont work or is ground control just being snooty because I have a skunk2 product-the impression I got.
Thanks for your time and hopefully I'm just worried about nothing and I can order the adapters and call it good.

You need a thread sleeve that fits Koni Yellows via the snap ring.

GC. Skunk2. Kung Fu. Whatever.

GC makes a well known set that has proper spring centering on the height adjuster.

You can use any flat bottom spring that fits the OD of the height adjuster. Obviously, you need to mind the rates and heights as well.

If GC uses a 2.5" OD height adjuster, you need 2.5" ID flat bottom springs.

I've used flat bottom springs from GC, summit, KW (close enough), Eibach ERS, and H&R (close enough) on my GC thread sleeve setup.

Make sure you get a centering device fo the top of the spring as well.

Or...instead of piecing this stuff together like a maniac, call up thmotorsports and get a set of Ground Controls.

Yes I have now considered Switching coils to ground control it would simplify everything but then that means I have to spend like $360! or so probably plus shipping! and maybe I could sell my old skunk2 coils for maybe 100 maybe, but this really sucks I'm super disappointed in Skunk2 that they don't readily have a soulution(they don't even carry the ring anymore but the guy I talked to on the phone said that they are for sale on amazon, but when I found them on amazon and will take 1-2 months to ship to me and yes I'm in the U.S.)
Also I forgot to mention on my first post when I talked to koni they did also mention that koni does make the sleeves and perches but would have to source them and part #s were 80 0000 0005 for sleeve and 80 0000 0006 for the threaded perches but when I looked it woud have to order 4 of each and came out to over $200.

So I'm kind of torn on what to do, should I just order the Skunk2 adapters and hopefully have no issues?
Or is there any other options besides the skunk2 adapter, ordering new coils from GC??
I know returning or selling the shocks is a possibility and maybe just getting tokiko illumines?
I really need some opinions on this.

If I do order new coils I also would be unsure what spring rates to order, the past couple years I have had the skunk2 which aren't the regular 8k f 6k r they are 8k f 8k r and they have been on stock socks which have been riding pretty good they pretty stiff and can be bumpy but aren't horrible, but once paired with koni yellows are they gonna feel a lot stiffer in a bad way, or should they work together nicely?? the car is my daily but plan on some tracking, also like to ride pretty low not dumped, I usually tuck just a little tire front and back

No idea how you were accepting of 8K springs on stock rear shocks. COT dang.

The Konis will control the spring better than your stock shocks. Only the REBOUND damping is adjustable on Konis.

Which means that you will *probably* be running the rear shock at almost full stiff to get the car to stop bouncing or waving around. It should feel better damped and less harsh than the stock shocks.

Lower the car to your desired height and measure your shock travel (how much travel you have before you hit the bumpstop). Make good choices. Dont slam the car. I would recommend using about the same height as a stock ITR...or maybe a tiny bit lower if you have to.

If you like your rates, stick with them.

I don't know if a GC setup is $360+ shipping. I thought they were a little less than that. I'd opt for that. As I said...its proven, and it comes with everything you'll need.

Or...at the least, get the GC thread sleeves and adjusters...and then buy some summit racing upper spring adapters.

Use thmotorsports for GC stuff. Its likely cheaper than GC direct.

OP: As they are there's nothing wrong with de S2 coilovers -with Konies you do want that ring that they indeed discontinued it seems.

Advantage of the GCs is they have a better perch adjust and lock system ánd a supplied upper spring rubber + this fits perfectly with their extended hats which you'll want to use if not for the extended shock travel then for the lower weight and droop.

I tried the Skunks once but I imported (go figure out what this cost me) a GC set.
