i have a 91 ef hatch si with a good running complete z6 swap
the problem i have is i am not getting spark
i have replaced and tested the ignition coil and icm (igniter) and have also replaced the complete dizzy assembly and i am still not getting spark
both positive and negative wires connected to the coil have voltage but the negative wont pulse when the engine is cranked
im thinking it may be a wire in the engine harness and or underdash subharness
and i have also swapped out ecus and still no spark
can anyone help me with this problem?

 

need crank position sensor to be working before it will trigger injectors and spark

yes, but that doesn't mean the signal is getting back to the ECU. So trace the wire for the crank position sensor back toward the ECU - ohm both ends and see if you have continuity. If not, look for a break in the wire along the way.
