This is new to me but I hope someone can help me. I bought this as a second car but I have been having problems. There is a faint gasoline odor and it stalls like its not going to accelerate and then it cathes up. Took it to a Honda dealer and they said they are almost certain its the evap canister and wanted to charge me $800, but they were not certain. Please help me with this issue, initially it was intermittently but it's happening more often. The engine, timing belt, and tranny have definitely been ruled out as the cause.

Try disconnecting the evap cannister purge solenoid connector. Yes, it will throw a code but that's cause you're causing the issue. See if it still has the issue.
