Default B16B (Type R) fit 91' crxsi w/o mods?

I am the original owner of my 1991 CRX SI.It's all stock however with 185,000 miles it shows symptoms of needing a rebuild.Rather than rebuild the stock 1.6L SOHC I would rather purchase a DOHC motor and drop in it.I just had the original clutch replaced with an Exedy OEM clutch kit complete.I would like to replace my motor with a JDMB16 (TYPE R),with 185 HP if it will fit without any modifications? If it will not then the next most HP JDM B16 motor that will. Will I need the tranny from the B16 motor or can I still use my stock 5 speed? Also will I have to get a new computer chip like the one that fits the new motor (or that came in that vehicle)? Will I need a new stage 1 HD clutch kit?I want a clean easy swap either with the JDM B16 (TYPE R),or the next model down HP wise without having to cut or modify anything. My car has never has factory AC if that makes any difference.I would appreciate answers from anyone on here that has experience with this. Thanks

Please utilize the FAQ to your advantage, read through the relevant links, and use GOOGLE or a similar search engine to see what's needed to complete the swap. If you have questions after that, then ask specific questions about what you don't understand.

there is no "B" series that will bolt in stock. you will need a swap kit or a lot of fab work. It sounds like you do not want to have to change much. Either rebuild the a6 or maybe a zc swap if they can still be bought cheap and for a decent price

when swapping a b series think engine price plus the hidden huge cost of supporting mods and being afraid of theifs and cops. but its gangster haha.

If you bought a full swap and I mean full swap you'd really only need mounts , limkage , and wiring

what about hydro conversion tires maybe his front shocks are too light of a rate for a b swap . exhaust is small for a b16b he has to re pin ecu clips. or get a rywire if h is in cali. and if your in cali and you dont have a hook up have fun even smoging. but probably not the case all im saying its not the actual swap thats killer its everything else your going to need or want to do eventually.not to mention th cop fear you have with a b series.
