Default Rattling noise in engine bay

I have a 1994 Acura integra. It recently started making a rattling noise when I press the gas. It sounds like it's coming from the engine bay. It has been leaking oil and I put some oil today and the noise seemed to go away a bit. The noise is still there and I'm not sure if it's my timing or what not. In first gear the noise is horrible , in second gear it's somewhat bad and past third it's pretty quiet but it's still there. I need help

Well, my Integra, will get a little "tick" in the engine when it's low on oil or due for a change. Keep in mind 5w30 is recommended. The 5, is the viscosity of the oil when cold, the 30 is when hot. If you use thicker oil (especially if it's cold) it will tick more at start up. Be sure not to overfill. In the middle is better than over the top mark.
Now, if you frequently run the oil low, and don't replace it (recommended 7500 miles on my car) you're going to burn up your oil pump. Synthetic oil, can easily go 5000 miles with minimal breakdown, but you still should check it, probably every week or two.
Mine typically burns about 1/4 quart every 1000 miles. I'm also around 280,000 miles, owned the car since 190,000. Been using full synthetic high mileage valvoline, and changing it every 5k, rather than every 7500. I also use a "10,000 mile" oil filter. I recently drove an Integra with a bad pump. There would be a loud tick for a few seconds before the oil finally got moving. Car died, but still drove home! Lots of terrible noises!
if your problem isn't oil related, it's likely fuel. That is, if the noise is engine tick, and not something physical. The noise could be from using low octane fuel (though on my 92, 96 octane is the minimum recommended octane). Octane, is also the AKI (anti knock indicator) number. The higher the octane, the less you'll hear "piston knock" or "ping".
A failing fuel injector can also get pretty noisy. You can put a broom, or anything with a wooden handle, on the injectors one at time. (carefully! Don't snap a plug or ruin a wire) and put your ear against the handle while it's running. You'll hear a louder tick on a bad injector, it will be apparent.
Your problem could be as simple, as a bad belt or tensioner. I'd need a better description of the sound, which side of the car it's on, or a video

Reading it again, makes me think it could be as simple as a heat shield loose. I've had my ac tensioner literally fall off on my car. Vibrations made the bolt holding it in the block come out
