i plan on putting in a B18B LS engine in my car in a while and then putting a greddy turbo kit on it later which leads me to the question: which tranny is best for the b18b while on boost and when its not on boost? N/A stock and turbo (turning up the boost later after tuning and maybe building the block, but much later in time). also, please consider the powerband of the b18b. like everyone says about the vtec engines and itr trannies, "you always stay in vtec even after you shift gears".

also, is the myth about the tall gearing of the LS tranny true? about it being in boost all the time? wouldnt it dropout of boost when you shift?

i was leaning towards a GSR tranny.

 

depends on how much boost you will be running, personally id say go ahead and do your self a favor and buy a b16a tranny then if you feel you need longer gears, sell the b16a tranny and buy a ls and have some change left over. Right now I have a b18b and a b16a tranny, night a day, the acceleration you'll get with this setup is awsome. you can give it gas in any gear and move, you can almost stop in 5th and give it gas without hesitation.

 

Go with the b16 tranny. I have one with my b18b and it feels alot better than driving it with the ls tranny. It feels much quicker.
