Default Help? Euro r H22a

I am new to the Honda game. This will be my first build. It's an H22a euro R in my 93 Honda prelude. I was just wondering which valvetrain upgrade would be best ? (Valves, cams, cam gears, springs, retainers, etc.) if anyone can give me any ideas much appreciated

I would say that match the valvetrain to cams (usually manufacturers have "sets").

Like brian crower cams and their valvetrain.

Better cams also benefit from higher compression (better pistons) but that means bigger (and more expensive) build also.

Hows your header and exhaust situation? Make sure that is "up to date" as well before you start to change internals.

You need to do some research there by yourself, cannot really say what characteristics you want for your engine....
Usually people go with Skunk2 Pro or Brian Crower cams. (I've become little bit paranoid about rocker wear with aftermarket cams so I went from Skunk2 to OEM JDM)

Also you need engine management (like Hondata) for proper tuning if youre doing major changes

Makes a lot of sense (wasn't thinking straight ) so for the basic bolt ons I.H.E Which would you recommend? Or brands ?? And you said you went from skunk2 to oem Jdm ? Which cams are best oem jdm? Isn't the euro R the best cams ? Which cams recommend

H22 Type S/R engines have the most power.

I would stick with your current cams and upgrade exhaust part first. You have to drop insane amount of money into these engines if you want to make serious hp numbers.. cost-gain ratio is not that good.

3" exhaust makes most power - headerwise maybe some PLM tri-Y product?

For intakewise stock intake is pretty ok IMO, just change better flowing filter there. Then tune.

If you have Type R engine already there (and its healthy engine), its already pretty decent so I would start to upgrade other parts of the car more than the engine (exept exhaust). Suspension, maybe some weight reduction etc

Just my opinion.

Not good engines for turboing unless you build the block
