These ecu's are a dime a dozen at the junkyard, just get the same one, assuming it really is bad and it's not another issue.

There is no ECU that will give you better performance. You either have your stock ECU or you can have a 'chipped' ECU that requires dyno time to maximize the engines performance.
But on a B2 the ECU is not the limiting factor, the B2 is.

No other ECU from a different car will have 'better mapping' or performance for your engine. From the factory each ECU is mapped for the given engine/drivetrain/car it will be installed into.

Each ECU is programmed from the factory for a given engine/transmission combo. Installing an ECU from a different model will not do anything to improve the performance/efficiency of the engine.

IIRC a P14 is an H23(non Vtec) ECU. Instlling that on your B2 is not going to do anything helpful. If you are planning on taking the car to a dyno and have it properly tuned/chipped then you can probably use a p06, pr4, p74, or p75 for non-VTEC but I have no idea if that will work with your B2. Also you are limited because, AFAIK, no one has done any kind of 'chipping' or piggybacks that work with the TCU for AT control. You might be able to get the engine tuned, but it seems most toonerz and programs do not have a proper interface for the TCU.
IOTW, you will need an ECU that is designed to work with an AT, since none of the above do(MT ECUs), you can't.

If you want to stick with the F22B2 engine, I would suggest the basic 3 bolt-ons. a short ram air intake, F23 intake manifold swap w/larger throttle body and an aftermarket 4-2-1 exhaust header.

Run that for a while and have some fun.

Then if you want to spend a bit more money you can look at upgrading the camshaft and adding a tuneable ECU.
