shipping bottom end, ok to lay on side?
i'm shipping a complete bottom end to someone (oil pan,pistons, crank, etc). And i was wondering if its safe to lay the engine on its side? i usually see them shipped w/ them sitting on the oil pan.
not to sure. but OT how much you paying ot ship and who you go with. i need a block and all the ones i see ppl want local. they cant seem to find someone to ship them.

I'm shipping from california to new jersey (looong distance). the amount is anywhere from $200-->$280 depending on who, and if its a residential or commercial place, or if its dropped off/picked up from the terminal.
I went with freght harbor or something like that. i got the quote from http://www.freightquotes.com and they estimated $244 for a 150lb item.

id build a crate for it and pack it with plenty of styrofoam peanuts. http://www.watkins.com/ is what honda uses to ship motors
