I have a 2004 Honda CR-V. I replaced some of the dashboard lights. The high beam indicator does not work. I tested, with a multimeter, and all the bulbs work, including the bulb that is supposed to be for the high beams. But the indicator light does not come on when the beams are switched to high. What might be the cause? I am thinking I may have to replace the headlight-turn signal indicator on the steering column, but thought I should ask before doing it. Ideas?

 

If the indicator bulb is good, then test the wire terminals at the connector to the gauge assembly.

There are two connectors (a green connector and a Lt Blue connector) to the gauge assembly. You will be testing the wire terminals at the Lt Blue connector.

With the headlight switch at the high beam setting, and a voltmeter; check for power (+) at terminal no. 1 (Red/Yel wire) - a red insulated wire with a yellow stripe) of the Lt Blue connector.

With a meter set to test continuity, check for continuity to ground at terminal no. 14 (Red/Blue wire) of the Lt. Blue connector.
