Does anyone have instructions on how to remove the back speakers in an EJ1. I am looking for directions with pics. I am sure I am going to get a couple of posts that say use the search function. I have and I welcome and thank the person who proves me wrong. I have also tried google and youtube. I can find directions all day, if I owned an EK.

I do thank you for pointing me to this site as it looks like a lot of good info can be found here. I was especially glad that I was able to translate it to English.

That being said, I did download that manual and found it to be one I already have. If you go to page 23-198, for rear speakers, it says:

Rear Speakers:
Note: Rear speakers are dealer-mounted. Refer to accessory installation instructions.

This is why I am looking to see if anyone has done a write-up or knows a forum where someone has done this or does anyone know how to get the accessory installation instructions.

 

This took me all of two minutes to find:

I was going to replace the rear deck speakers in my '95 coupe last weak however, it turned out the right rear (coaxial) tweeter wiring broke off from the bass speaker. Removed the speaker, resoldered it and now sounds good as new. Whichever prior owner that installed these aftermarket (Polk) speakers did me a big favor... he did not use the stock speaker cover. He used an aftermarket raised mount and speaker cover /grill. He used screws through the underside of rear deck to tighten down the cover. After removing the speaker covers I was able to remove the four screws from the top which meant no interior dismantling at all.

 

It took me less time to find it when I did. The title mentions I am looking for instructions for an EJ1, this car in the video isn't one. It's got 2 extra doors and the back seat and deck portions are not the same, or else I wouldn't be asking the question.

again, I have found multiple forums and a couple of website that have what I am looking for, if I had an EK. Plenty of places too if I want to install an aftermarket radio, just no reaf speaker remove and install.

Well, if it helps my set up uses mounts just like (or similar) to these: https://www.crutchfield.com/S-5iO2Wt...-Brackets.html and then covered with a 6x9" grill ..which is tightened from underneath the deck with screws. If, you want to do the same for yours you could pry off the stock grill covers and then remove the speaker scews from the top.

What do you drive? 94 civic coupe has 6 1/2 speakers in the back so 6×9's are not really an option. Just trying to correctly remove and replace the existing ones. Didn't think it would be so difficult to find instructions.

 

'95 EX coupe. Mine does have 6.5" speakers with 6x9" aftermarket grills. Came that way when I purchasd the car and I'm glad it did: as described in my previous post.

 

Try crutchfield.com, they sell car audio. The only place to purchase due to customer service and low prices. You will find they have info to remove and replace equipment in just about anything.
If they are no help, look at metra or scosche.

I looked at Crutchfield. All I could find was a copy of the instructions on how to remove and replace the radio. I have the helms manual if I had questions on that.

As for the other sources, I could find again, how to install the radio but nothing on the speaker removal.

 

Anyone else know of any other resources out there?

I have read many of that gentlemens post. He does great writeups but in reading those writeups, I'm sure he has a hatchback, which is no where near the same setup, except for the front door speakers.

 

Yes. Deschlong (The ******* ..lol) might get 'er dicked.

 

Screws. Under the rear shelf. Access through trunk. I may own a hatch, but also two sedans... speaker setup can't be THAT different in design.
