cleaned egr, now wont stay running
2002 accord se, 2.3. Several codes came up at emission time including p1519 for the iac, p0300, 0301,0302 etc, and the code for egr. all of these codes were intermittent, the plugs and wires are good, the spark is strong, ran some fuel system cleaner and the p0300 went away but not the iac and egr. I cleaned the egr passage by removing the intake cover as seen on various you tube videos, removed and cleaned the iac by spraying down with carb cleaner and replaced with new gasket. the egr intake area was pretty full of carbon, cleaned it with a flexible brush but did not remove the egr, just tried to vaccuum out the passage. using a new intake gasket i put everything back together and now the car starts but immediately dies, the accelerator has no effect, i checked for loose or broken vaccuum lines, what else should i check?
thanks for the replies. i took it all back apart yesterday and removed the egr, cleaned it and the passageway thoroughly. buying new vacuum lines today. is there a guide to checking the electrical connections involved? can i check the egr valve while it is off the engine? could the sensor on the right side of the plenum cover, i am guessing intake air temp?, be bad?

engine now has a surging idle, but pressing the accelerator bogs it til it dies. could this be a bad throttle position sensor or map sensor? i am not able to check codes right now.
You now have a vacuum leak. You can use a fine water mist to help narrow down the vacuum leak. Just gently spray a mist around the intake area that you removed. When the idle changes you found the leak.
For the bogging, if it's misfiring on all cylinders it could be the crank sensor either gunked up with carbon or is flat out bad. Clear the codes and see what codes it's now throwing.

Fixed! Went to the pick a part yard and found a 2000 with lower miles and took the whole top of the intake including the throttle body, IACV, and all the sensors off of it. reinstalled everything and it idled just fine but would die as soon as i gave it throttle. Poked around on this forum and found out the TPS and the MAP connectors are the same, switched them around and everything is fine now. Drove 150 miles today and no CEL, or codes, so hopefully tomorrow it passes emissions and my son can stop driving his truck to school. Thanks for the help!
