Default Exhaust Options - 95 CD7

Hello. I am wanting to ditch my stock LX exhaust for a larger exhaust. I DO NOT want some buzzing can in the back.

My thoughts are to use a Prelude stock exhaust as a replacement or at least the muffler. Again, my plan is to increase size of exhaust without sacrificing stock sound. Ideally catallytic converter back. I'm assuming BB6 Si exhaust could work?!

Does anyone have any experience with Prelude and/or Accord coupe exhaust?

I doubt a Prelude exhaust will fit without modifications. You might be better off picking up an 8th gen Civic Si or RSX-S muffler and taking it to an exhaust shop. There you can pick whatever size pipe you want, if you want an additional resonator or not, and with either of those mufflers it will sound very much like stock. An alternative option is Apexi WS2 which is very quiet and OEM sounding but last I checked it was about $600 for the catback.

You could always contact the guys down at KTeller.com and they can help you piece together a good quality exhaust that fits your goals and budget.

KTeller Accord Exhaust Kits

Here is the 3" Stainless KTeller Exhaust Piping Kit that I will be installing on my CD5.

They suggested a 3" x 18" magnaflow resonator and vibrant muffler to keep the drone and buzz down. So that's what I had them ship with the kit.

Stepping up to Prelude piping isn't going gain you any power. Its only a 1/4" larger diameter (1.75" vs 2"). Plus, if you keep your stock cat, that is the "choking point" of the exhaust.

I currently have a 97-01 Prelude piping on my Accord, paired with a Stromung muffler. I previously had an aggressive Magnaflow setup, that I got tired of. This new Prelude/Stromung setup, inside the car sounds stock. You can't hear it over the sound of an aftermarket intake, if you have one. Here's a vid from outside, its pretty reserved.

I honestly don't know if a Prelude muffler will fit. If you look at them, they are shaped rather odd. If you want something stock like, try finding a 06+ Civic Si, or RSX Type S mufflers. Or even a EP3 Civic Si if you want dual tip. But like a said before, you really aren't going to gain anything from upgrading, especially if you don't go aftermarket, because that is really the only way to make power, is to increase the piping diameter, and change to a free-flowing muffler.

If you're willing to sacrifice a bit of noise, grab a KTeller 2.25" piping kit, a Vibrant or Magnaflow 18" resonator, and a quiet muffler, such as an Apexi WS2, Greddy SP, Remus, or Sebring. You'll want a chambered muffler vs a straight through.

Power isn't what I'm going for rather just looking for a stock replacement that increases ID of piping. Currently I have a hole in my exhaust and I would prefer something that is dual tipped at the muffler.

This is what I am looking for! Prelude 97+ piping paired with some sort of factory Honda muffler.

Looks like I need to purchase EP3 muffler, Prelude mid pipes and a larger/new cat....

Thanks everyone who chimed in, much appreciated.

for the cat replace it with a hi-flow Magnaflow setup...should only be like $90 or so new, and have much better piping size.
