Hello to everyone out there I am new to Honda tech. see a lot of helpful information on here its good to see people helping each other out!hoping I can get some help too. I have a 1999 accord lx sedan with a 2.3l at.recently replaced the 2 gaskets in the vtech solenoid but have noticed oil leaking from under the round spool/valve on top.if I got the name wrong ,apologies.oil seems to leak from under this piece and down the wires.also have a leak under oil pressure switch. Hoping just a new gasket will replace that or if I should just replace switch alltogether?as for the leak on the vtech valve can I seal underneath the top with atv or is replacement necessary?looked hi n low even sideways on the internet and all I see is replacement for the 2 gaskets which I have already done.if anyone has encountered this same leak not from the housing where meets block or where bottom n top of valve meet but under the round piece on top I would appreciate any info or solutions u can offer!thanks appreciate ya

 

I bought a gaskets from Honda, replaced it once but it kept leaking, I thought the gasket was defective and bought another one. The same story. I got very upset - it took me about 40 minutes to remove those three screws because I did not want to take other things apart in order to gain access.

The third time I coated the gasket as well as mating surfaces with "No hardening RTV" I am leak free now.

Thanks for the response Sam and qwazzy.Qwazzy i did replace both gaskets .we got rained out today so hoping tomorrow we can get at it I will try the non hardening atv and see if that can cure my problem otherwise have to take it off again ,getting that back bottom bolt was a task.thanks for the responses appreciate it.let u know how it goes.
