94 ex coupe bought dead from craigs.

timing belt and water pump and radiator so far got it running.

throwing codes 9 and 19. swapping the distributor very soon but im lost on what direction to travel for the code 19
every thread i read is pointing to engine swaps.

from my knowledge and what previous sell told me the trans was swapped when he first bought it.

its a d16z6 automatic trans

runs smooth. when cold it shifts hard but that it.

 

Code is seen more from auto to manual swaps than anything else. Harness may not be done right for the trans, considering it was swapped. Check all transmission plugs, etc. **shrug**

 

That's what I did yesterday removed and visually checked to make sure there was no corrosion or fluid.

Im more curious to what sensor this code refers to or what direction to travel for troubleshooting.

Also what ECU is supposed to be in here I can double check that maybe that wasn't changed out?

 

Went to swap guts from my new 1.5 dizzy to my used 1.6 dizzy. leaving out the botch job the previous guy did to it i replaced all sensors killing the code 9.

as soon as the dizzy was out i decided to semi wipe down the hard to reach areas that were now accessible. In the process of doing that i found that this plug wasn't fully connected.
tried to fully seat the plug after i cleaned out all the corrosion. and noticed they did not match the whole way. the photos may not show it the whole way but they are very very close but dont match.

so i took some left over terminal resistor plugs from peoplenet installs fro a Mack truck and wired thos in with heat shrink butt connectors. yes i know i would prefer to solder but im out of heat shrink for now so this will do for a few days.
for further Notice if your having CEL 19 code. check this specific connection first. (if no engine swap was done)
