Default iacv problems

Hey guys! So yesterday i was looking at my IM and noticed there was electrical tape blocking off my IACV that the previous owner put there. So i took the tape off, Took the valve off and cleaned it very good. i put the valve back on and started my car.. it idled great(which it had not done since i owned it) for about 10 seconds before shutting off. now it will not start again no matter what i do to it. i've checked everything making sure i didn't unplug anything. any ideas on what could've happened? it's a 95 civic hatchback with a b18c1 gsr.

Put the magic tape back on !!!

Seriously, the simple changes that you have made for this particular issue would not cause the car not to start. So, you have either created another issue inadvertently while making the current repair or you have a separate and unrelated issue that has coincidentally occurred immediately after you made repairs to the IACV.

the car is a wiring disaster.. the guy before me literally finger twisted wires and left them bare on the metal under the dash so i'm going to get a rywire engine harness and get a new harness for the dash. i haven't hooked it up to a code reader yet though. i actually put the tape back on and it's still doing nothing. but in getting no spark when i test it!

make sure you have the signal and ground at the dizzy, probably knocked one of those wires loose that had a crappy twisted connection. Secondly why not just pull the engine and dash harness from the junk so much cheaper and it's oem
